Family history is a very personal thing. By learning about our ancestors, we discover more about ourselves and where we come from. It can be an emotional journey, especially when you uncover difficult stories. But there is something very special about it that you only understand when you do it.
I would be happy to hear from anyone interested in family history, particularly those researching the Pickles, Bedford or Gidlow families, or places I have studied. If I can help somebody discover more about their own family, that would be very rewarding.
It also puts things in perspective. You are not really here that long, and you need to make sure you make an impact. Because there might be someone like me in a hundred years searching, wanting to know that you did a good job.
